Shakepay Releases Bitcoin Card for Bitcoin Rewards
Are you a shaker? This is what ShakePay calls their user base. ShakePay is a Canadian mobile app that allows its users to purchase Bitcoin and Ethereum. Their rewards program allows users to log into their app, and shake their phone once per day to earn Bitcoin. We wrote about this in more detail in another post. This article is to talk about ShakePay’s latest announcement. They are releasing a VISA debit card that will allow users to spend and earn rewards in Bitcoin. This is a really exciting development because it ultimately means that Bitcoin has more utility in the ecosystem. Being able to spend your Bitcoin is an amazing option to have available to you. One that adds a ton of legitimacy to the project of Bitcoin in general. Let’s dig into what to expect with the Shakepay VISA Debit card.
Other Crypto VISA Debit Cards
Here at Go Full Crypto, we’re a big fan of crypto VISA Debit cards. They give us the ability to exist completely within the world of cryptocurrency. ShakePay isn’t just giving you the ability to spend from your account at any visa terminal. They are giving you the ability to instantly spend Bitcoin. The ability to spend small amounts of Bitcoin is a hailed use case, but not currently possible because of high transaction fees on the network. Companies like Shakepay and Crypto.com are extremely innovative, and have created ways to spend cryptocurrency without incurring on-chain transaction fees.

It allows us to earn, borrow, trade, and spend within one application. We’re really excited to see ShakePay enter this space, simply because of how beneficial the Crypto.com VISA Debit card has been for our lives.
How do these Crypto VISA Cards Work?
Cryptocurrency exchanges (like ShakePay) all work in similar ways. They allow you to convert CAD into BTC and vice versa. The appeal of having a VISA Debit card connected to your app is that you need to rely less on your bank. Even though cryptocurrency is awesome, it is not always an established method of payment when we visit stores. Now it is. These VISA Debit cards suddenly allow us to convert BTC into CAD, in order to spend it right away. In my opinion, the less time we hold CAD the better. This is the Full Crypto lifestyle.
